With each decade we go through new beauty standards and transformations, especially with our eyebrows. From thin to thick to shaved off, everyone has their own preferences.
Personally, I’ve never had my eyebrows touched or groomed until this past weekend. I’m not going to lie, I have always thought about what it would be like to even get them arched, waxed, or tweezed. It wasn’t until De’Aira, owner of Dynasty Microblading, reached out to me. Dynasty Microblading is Detroit’s First Licensed Microblading Studio. They offer multiple services from threading and tinting to micro blading and brow lamination. Not to mention, they’re the FIRST beauty studio to offer brow lamination in Detroit.
When she initially reached out about a possible collaboration for brow lamination, I instantly started to research brow lamination and any side effects like the true hypochondriac that I am. Brow lamination is basically a chemical treatment that straightens your curly or course brow hairs; otherwise known as a relaxer. It’s HUGE in Europe right now and it’s quickly making its way to the U.S. This treatment lasts up to 8 weeks with proper maintenance and care.
Anyways, I went ahead and agreed to meet up for a consultation prior to the actual treatment. This is where we performed a patch test. The facility itself is located in Detroit in a section known as New Center. The studio is very clean and beams with calm, relaxing vibes from the moment you walk in. Take a look for yourself to see.
The patch prep itself took all of 10 minutes where the products were placed with a plastic bandage on my arm for 48 hours to see if I’ll have a possible reaction. Good news: I passed!
Next comes the fun part, the actual service! We started with some before pictures followed by some whole hearted conversation. The lamination itself took less than one hour to complete. It was a very comfortable and relaxing atmosphere. Most of it was honestly spent laughing. De’Aira has a way of making you feel like you’re catching up with an old friend!
Are you ready for the final product? Well here it is! My first real words were: I have eyebrows now! Here’s how they look before and immediately after the treatment.
The next 48 hours have a strict regimen, including not getting water on your new brows as well as no sun exposure and extreme heat. But don’t worry, you’ll get a detailed outline of thorough instructions including a goodie bag!
So 48 hours later and I’m still loving my new eyebrows! They’re thicker and more manageable. I’m excited to see how long the treatment will last.
